Time Saving Tools

In the long run, having the right tools will save you time and money.

Power Tools

Convenient and easily accessible battery powered tools are a game changer, no matter which brand you use. We use Milwaukee, so I'll link to those.

Milwaukee Drill Starter Kit
The M18 Fuel starter kit gives you every thing you need to start your tool collection, and you can often find deals.
Milwaukee Circular Saw
Add a circular saw to your arsenel for building doors, cutting plywood, and more.
Another drill!
With another drill, you can use one for drilling and one for driving screws, reducing the time switching out bits. We use an M12 Drill which is cheap and lightweight.
Milwaukee Staple Gun
We use a staple gun for adding extra strength to our walls and for attaching fabric to walls.
Milwaukee Orbital Sander
We use this to smooth edges on all of our builds.
Extra M18 Fuel Batteries
We've found these to be the best high power vs. weight batteries for our M18 tools.
M18 Rapid Charger
Able to charge M18 batteries much faster, we've found this to be a great time saver.
Electrical Tools

When custom making electrical, like for audio or lighting, we've found these tools save us a LOT of time.

Self Adjusting Wire Stripper
A total game changer vs. traditional wire strippers, these automatically adjust to the size of wire you're cutting. We removed the length setter entirely.
Solder Seal Wire Connectors
If you're connecting two wires together, use these instead of a soldering iron. You can use a heat gun instead!
Bulk Heat Shrink Tubing
Even if you use the solder seals above, we like using heat shrink on wires as well. Best to buy in bulk!
Heat Gun
Use a heat gun for the solder seals and heat shrink tubing. Any craft gun will work well enough for this.
A Lighter
For super thin wires (like we use for our lighting systems), you can burn the casing off of wires instead of stripping them.
Soldering Iron
For connecting wires to hard metal surfaces or boards, you'll have to use a soldering iron. Any starter kit should do.
Other Random Tools

These are tools that we've found to be useful in our builds.

Spider Tool Holster
Attach your drills to your hip for easy access. We use the Spider Tool Holster.
Leatherman
Always have a knife, pliers, and screwdriver on you. We use the Leatherman Skeletool CX.
